How Does the Sense of Closeness to God Affect Attitudes toward Refugees in Turkey? Multiculturalism and Social Contact as Mediators and National Belonging as Moderator

Turkey has been the country hosting highest number of refugees globally with immigration Syrians after civil war in Syria. There have no major problems between Turks and past ten years. Although a financial burden 71 billion USD to Turkish state, society not reacted significantly due common religious, cultural, humanitarian values. This study was conducted 1743 individuals different age groups, it tried understand effect society’s spirituality attitudes behaviors towards Syrian refugees. relationship investigated regard whether multiculturalism contact frequency acted as mediators national belonging moderator. Gender, age, education, family income, marital status, participants neighbors were used control variables. As result analysis, found that people associated their refugees, mediator being social moderator this relationship.
